Gain More Listings in 4 Clear Steps

Four ways you can gain more listings and grow your real estate business.

How do agents get more listings? Getting listings is imperative to the success of an agent’s business. Listings pay more, take less time, and often lead to more buyers as well. However, it’s easy to get caught up in the busyness and forget about prospecting and networking. I completely understand. That’s why I’m here today with a list of four ways to get more real estate business. Here are the four best ways to get more listings:

1. Work with your SOI. Your SOI or sphere of influence is the group of people that already know, like, and trust you. It could include family, friends, some past clients, old coworkers, etc. If you can provide some sort of value by being their source of education and news in the real estate industry, they’re more likely to give you referrals for new business on listings.

2. Consider different forms of marketing and farming. Everyone is aware that we should be marketing ourselves on social media, but not all agents are consistent about it. In addition, we should also be farming neighborhoods. Our recommendation is to be farming three different neighborhoods on rotation. Farm one neighborhood for a month, then move on to the second, and then the third.

“Getting more listings requires intentionality and drive.”

3. Contact FSBOs and expired listings. Working for sale by owners and expired listings has a huge advantage to picking up new listings. We know one thing for sure: These people have raised their hands and said, “I want to sell my home.” We also know they’ve probably had a bit of a problem selling their home and that we can be the solution.

4. Figure out what makes you unique. Every agent has something they do better than most agents in the market. Figure out what that is for you, and ensure every single person you come in contact with knows that.

Overall, getting more listings requires intentionality and drive, so make sure you have those things, and you will have success. If you have any questions about this, or if you need advice on how to implement these strategies to your specific situation, don’t hesitate to call or email me! It would be my honor to help you.
